The aim of the paper is formulation of equations expressing interaction among moving inertial
loads of pedestrians and cyclists and a footbridge. The equations of motion of all interacting
structures was shown. The fundamental matrices relations representing the interaction of all
substructures and a deck was presented. The shown formulas allow to analysis of responses of
structures with simultaneous excitations of forces changing in time and space, inertial moving
loads, tuned mass dampers and kinematic excitations.

This paper discusses a data acquisition and analysis system used in automatic laboratory testing of settlements of soil. The system consists of several blocks. It may be applied in different, time consuming, soil measurements. All of them are the subjects of home and European standards. In the paper some experimental results have also been shown.

Paper deals with the stress concentration problem in civil engineering structures, especially damaged and possibility of their reduction using of polymer flexible joints. This aspect was analyzed based on a numerical model, as well as a simple bar model of flexible joint of nonlinear characteristic, which was described by linear constitutive equations.

Despite of many tools supporting construction management delays are often found effects in construction projects. The papers presents the findings of a survey aimed at identifying the most important causes of delays in construction works from the viewpoint of contractors. The knowledge can be helpful for minimizing delays occurring risk.

The paper deals with the non-linear state of deformation of saturated two phase porous media with variable porosity and permeability. Induced anisotropic permeability is taken into account. This induced anisotropy is described by changing the internal structure of spherical pores into ellipsoidal ones. N umerical example shows the evaluation of the current tensor of permeability in the plane state of deformation.

The influence of siliceous fly ash properties and conditions of maturation on compressive strength of fly ash concretes was studied in the paper. Moreover, a lot of strength models of fly ash concretes were analyzed in the paper. The analyses made on the basis research program. The partial replacement of cement by fly ash (0, 20, 35, 50% mass of cement), the coefficient w/s = 0,55; 0,45; 0,38, and kind of siliceous fly ash in three categories of losses of ignition A, B and C were variable in concrete mixes. A new model of compressive strength for fly ash concretes, build on the basis of research program is presented in the paper.

A review of contemporary achievements in the field of advantages taken from the glueing technique in metal structures is done in the paper. A dhesives being in use at present and accessible on the market are characterized taking into account their mechanical properties. Design rules of glued connections and basic methods for their calculations are given. The most significant examples of the applications of the joints in metal building industry are shown.

This paper analyses the interaction between building structure and ground that was subjected to mining exploitation. The issues relating to the influence of the enforced horizontal strains of the ground surface on the foundation framework were formulated as a quasi-static contact problem with friction and unilateral constraints. The incremental discrete task resulting from FEM was solved by iterative method. Obtained displacements, contact stresses and internal forces in the framework, were compared to similar available in the literature. All necessary calculation were carried out using MSC Marc.

In Poland, most noticeable is the lack of a widely used systematic of construction works for the classifying and systematizing works. Such a systematic should be used in order to facilitate cost estimation and quantity takeoff comparisons and to show the relationship between the technical documentation and cost studies. Such systematic may allow for classification of construction works, elements and materials in each phase of construction investment. The article presents the idea and characterizes shortly the world’s most widely used construction works systematics. A comparison of selected systematics was made. It was also shown an example of selected systematics.
