Mission and objectives of the journal

Przekładaniec

Przekładaniec is an interdisciplinary academic journal published by the Faculty of Polish, Jagiellonian University, devoted to the phenomenon of translation in its broadest sense. We publish articles presenting new research – theoretical, descriptive and empirical – on various literary, cultural, historical, sociological, linguistic and philosophical aspects of translation and interpreting. We are interested in new perspectives, methodologies and research fields.

Since the founding of the journal in 1995, it has been our goal to foster the development of translation studies through an open exchange of ideas, while maintaining the highest standards of academic publishing. All articles are subject to double-blind peer review by two independent experts. The editorial team is supported by an international advisory board.

Przekładaniec
mainly publishes thematic issues; however, every issue also has the Miscellanea section, which features texts not related to the leading topic. We also include reviews of new translation studies books published in Poland.

The main language of publication is Polish, but we also bring out English-language versions of selected issues. All articles have abstracts in English.
