Mission and objectives of the journal

Romanica Cracoviensia

Romanica Cracoviensia is an academic journal dedicated to promoting Romance culture: French, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, Galician, Italian, Romanian and many minor Romance literatures and languages.

The journal was established in 2000 in the Department of Romance Languages at Jagiellonian University in Krakow (Poland), by Prof. dr hab. Marcela Świątkowska who became the chief editor with dr Iwona Piechnik being the editorial secretary until 2015. From 2016 the new editor-in-chief is Prof. dr hab. Wacław Rapak and dr Jakub Kornhauser became the vice-editor-in-chief and editorial secretary. In 2018 Dr. Karolina Czerska joined the editorial team as journal secretary whereas in 2021 Dr. Agnieszka Kocik and Tomasz Krupa became secretaries of the reviews and linguistic sections respectively.

The circulation of the journal is published quarterly online by the Jagiellonian University Press. All the articles are written in Romance languages or in English.

The journal also works closely with the Faculty of Philology at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow (Poland).

We are currently seeking papers for 2026/1 and 2026/2 issues. We encourage to submit book reviews. The publications in question should thematically correspond to the profile of our journal.
