The influence of cinema, which has always been a mediator between art and social phenomena is undeniable, especially as it relies on the visual aspect, which currently plays a dominant role in creating image and identity. The examination of fair treatment of mentally ill people by an interdisciplinary filter of health humanities bonding the knowledge of STEM and social sciences with art is a theoretical and practical axis of this article. The article criticizes the status quo between film and entertainment in perspective of narration supposedly strengthening the positive image of the mentally ill, as well as introduces the profiles of various forms of education through film in the area of mental health. The aim of the article is to present the principles of the original educational initiative Film Transgressions that had been carried through during the summer semester 2014/15 under the patronage of The Institute of Social Therapy and Education, The Institute of Sociology of Jagiellonian University and the Department of Social Work Ethics of the University of John Paul II. The results of attempts at finding a method of engaging people, who in their education or professional practice may encounter the mentally ill, are enriched with a description of texts and movies acting as didactic assistance for educators, being also useful for social science adepts and social workers.

Social determinates of the social economy development in regional community (the case of Opole region)

The aim of my article is to give an analysis of selected social factors that have influenced the implementation of the Opole Program for Social Economy Development, which was created to answer the needs and problems of the region. The resources of human and social assets of disadvantaged groups in Opole region, which are the key to social economy projects success as a regional and local development factor, have been found to be insufficient and limited (transmission of poverty, welfare dependency, negative attitudes towards work). It is for these reasons that the success of the program will be above all determined by the actions taken to raise the level of knowledge and public awareness not only among potential beneficiaries of the program, but also among regional and local authorities, and by the development of social support system, in particular the cooperation procedures between local authorities and the nonprofit organizations.

The aim is to develop empathy students who are preparing a public campaign aimed at helping the blind and partially sighted to empathize with their situation 'they visited the exhibition Invisible' in Warsaw.

'Invisible exhibition' can be divided into three stages. The first takes place in the sighted world, where viewers become familiar with a variety of articles intended for the blind. The second is a tour of the exhibition in complete darkness, navigate through unknown space to hear only the voice of the guide. The third step is to talk with a guide, an opportunity to ask questions, to find out how to help a blind person in everyday life.

This place we combine the categories of compassion, trust and experience that is the concept of the exhibition, as well as the statements of the students were the most kojarzonymi of space 'Invisible exhibition'. Emotions connected with the place are strong, total darkness prevails there awakens a feeling of discomfort, and sometimes even fear. Participants work together to cope in the dark. Guide becomes the expert showing how to deal with disability in everyday life. These elements shape the educational values of the place in the education of future social workers.
