The paper advocates the claim that boredom is not only a psychological state or existential mood but a social emotion produced and reproduced in the process of interactions between people as individuals, people displaying specific social roles, or social groups. Moreover, as argued in the article, the feeling of boredom is particularly characteristic of power relations. Therefore, boredom is hypothesized to be a matter of interactional/social position – its experiencing is influenced by one’s social status. The power to produce boredom in others usually reflects a higher social position, and in some situations, causing others to be bored can constitute a deliberate or unintentional method of keeping others in a submissive position by limiting their sense of agency – thus a tool for gaining/maintaining power and social control.

The aim of this article is to try to interpret the meaning of boredom in Tadeusz Kantor’s theatre. I analyse fragments of three performances that were key to his artistic development: The Return of Odysseus (1944), as well as The Madman and the Nun (1963) and The Dead Class (1975). By juxtaposing different ways of understanding boredom, in a philosophical and literary perspective, with Kantor’s work, I will examine whether and in what sense we can speak of this phenomenon in relation to his theatre. Finally, I will try to show why Bruno Schulz’s ideas may help us to uncover the potential significance of Kantor’s „pulp of reality”.

More than a health crisis, the Covid-19 pandemic turned out to be a major disruptive factor influencing the psychological well-being of the survivors. The Covid lockdown, thus provided the recent global brush with boredom, with boredom assuming different faces and persona. The stay-at-home orders had not accounted for this complimentary disease of a phenomenon initially. The confinement for uncertain periods of time proved to be mentally extolling as much as it was anything else. This essay tries to look into the psychological and physiological manifestations of Covid induced boredom as reflected in the select poems of Steeve Wheeler’s Ellipsis and Jane Marla Robbins’ Poems of Covid-19: Stuck in Lockdown: The First Three Months.

This article presents the museum in the contemporary world in a metamuseological way, id est in a way that includes the historical and philosophical discourse of the existence of a cultural institution. Museum templum, museum forum, slow museum, attentive museum and other concepts are intended to show how cultural institutions are shaped to fit into the concept of the asylum museum. The museum's various metamorphoses have brought it from a “boring” to an attractive model to resemble a postmodern asylum, where the sphere of communication should be developed in order for the audience to experience culture in an inclusive way.

Text describe phenomenon of implementing commercial activities implemented to museums – non-profit places. Tendency called disneylandisation is attractive, but involves a loss of individual autonomy. Moreover, it may interfere with the mission of museums, which should focus their activities on the dissemination of collections, implementation of statutory objectives and their appropriate storage display units. Nowadays, there is also a strong emphasis on education and conducting activities to activate the museum audience based on these resources.

Behavioral ethics (empirical ethics) is a new perspective in the field of organizational decision making that focuses on how circumstances and psychological processes trigger people to involve in morally dubious behavior. It is widely held belief that this approach should further provide a new explanatory framework for ethical decision making in a business setting. The main goal of the paper is to present and discuss a characterization of behavioral ethics. In order to fulfill this aim, the first part of the article contains a short description of its historical background as well as a succinct overview of theoretical foundations of behavioral ethics. The second part of the article has been devoted to the introduction of several more detailed concepts developed by behavioral ethicists.

The purpose of the article is to describe the processes of onboarding employees in Poland into professional responsibilities and organizational culture in the conditions of remote working. For the article, an own study was conducted using individual in-depth interviews on a group of line managers and Human Resources staff of a medium-sized Polish company. Based on collected data and relying on the concepts of institutional change and organizational culture, it was concluded that the analyzed organization developed effective processes of professional onboarding, striving to maintain norms of its organizational culture. At the same time, it did not find new ways of conducting social onboarding, thus the realization of rituals and values related to the character of the organization was disturbed.

The article explores the influence of social media on everyday life through the lenses of the sociology of everyday life and symbolic interactionism. The increased social media consumption in post-pandemic society has become a trending topic – both in media and academia. Not only a consequence of COVID-19 restrictions, but also an example of omnipresent megatrend of digitalisation, social media use is on the rise across the globe, getting more and more account users every year. It is one of the most fast-growing technologies of the XXI century, now representing an attractive USD 39.7 billion market size, where careers in social media got into CNN’s ranking of 100 Best Jobs in America. Thus, social media represents a definite research interest for a sociologist, as basically, a great deal of interactions in society happen online nowadays.
