The journal Zoon Politikon welcomes the opportunity to publish reviews and review essays of current books in the fields of sociology, political studies, media studies and related. Submissions should not be under review by other publications.

Format: All book reviews must be submitted in Word document format and accord to general journal editing style (see webiste tab "Instructions for authors").

An abstract (up to 700 words) should be submitted in a separate file together with a title page containing the title of the paper, the full names of the authors, their full (unabbreviated) affiliations, their ORCID numbers and full contact information.

Book Data:  At the top of the review, the citation must be presented in accordance with APA style and a hotlink to the publisher must be provided. 

Length: Reviews will typically run 800-1,500 words, but may exceed this length, if necessary. Review essays should have between 3,000 and 5,000 words.

Content: It would be desirable if each review contained as a minimum:

• a description of the aim(s) of the book, its intended audience, its organization, and its major thesis;
• a discussion of the book’s strengths and weaknesses and its place within the field scholarship.

Review essays should also contribute to the ongoing debate within the field and include reflections that exceed the narrow scope of the reviewed book.

Publication of reviews is at the discretion of the editors. Review essays will be referred for external peer review.
