Zoon Politikon is an international peer-reviewed journal that is published annually and aims to refer to the Aristotelian tradition of thinking about the humanities, social affairs and public life. Its profile is the result of reflection on the tradition and modernity of the surrounding world from the perspective of the broader public awareness, active participation in public life and the dissemination of good practice in this area. Zoon Politikon is an interdisciplinary journal which has it origin in the multiplicity of experience, diversity of disciplines, different ways of thinking about community issues and communities in the postmodern world. The dominant perspective is the experience of the sociology of public life and public pedagogy with numerous references to the inspiration from the areas of social psychology, philosophy, political theory and the theory of culture.

The journal is aimed at researchers at any stage of their career, primarily in the fields of sociology, anthropology, political science, international relations, and communication science. The journal accepts texts in Polish or English submitted to one of the permanent sections: (1) thematic texts for call for papers; (2) regular texts (outside calla), (3) debuts (for beginning researchers), (4) reviews, and (5) essays.

The acceptance or rejection of a text for the review procedure is decided by the journal's editors, taking into account the compatibility of the article's subject matter with the characteristics of the journal and the quality of the text (meeting the minimum requirements for a scientific article: critical apparatus and volume of min. 6,000 words). Acceptance or rejection of the text for publication is decided by the editorial board on the basis of the received reviews of the text and the authors' corrections and comments with regard to the reviews.
