This study compares the measures that serve women’s numerical presence in politics in India and Pakistan. Based on the selected indicators of women’s human development, the paper also outlines the socio-economic and cultural conditions under which these measures operate. Drawing mainly on the primary sources coupled with Indian and Pakistani movies, the paper concludes by exposing the gap between an average woman citizen and a woman politician that exists in both countries regardless of quotas and reservation policy.

The subject of the article is the media image of the local government elections of 2018, which allows to draw representative opinions of the media elites’ representatives and showing the mainstreams of the political dispute, which appeared during the election campaign. The research covered the most important opinion weeklies in Poland, i.e.: “Newsweek”, “Polityka”, “Wprost”, “Gazeta Polska”, “Do Rzeczy”, “Sieci”. The articles on electoral and self-government topics were analyzed.

The subject of the article is the concept of political system created by Murray Rothbard. His thought is part of the philosophy called libertarianism, whose representatives recognize the right of private property as the basic and only right for the human person. From this perspective, all problems regarding the limits of individual rights and freedoms are resolved. Based on natural law, Rothbard creates a vision of stateless order in which the individual is completely free from any coercion, as long as it does not violate the freedom of other individuals. Rothbard calls his system of government anarchocapitalism or market anarchism.

The article is an attempt to determine the area of research related to the importance of dual The article is an attempt to determine the area of research related to the importance of dual vocational training of adolescents in the process of human capital management in craft enterprises. Craft companies belong to the category of SME’s. People management model in SME’s is different from the popular models of management knowing from large organizations.
The subject of my considerations – craft enterprises, are characterized by a characteristic element in the process of managing people – the stage of dual vocational education of adolescent. I make a goal of my work to diagnose significance of dual education of adolescent for HRM in Polish craft companies.

Loneliness is a condition more and more often experienced by people regardless of their gender or age. The phenomenon of loneliness can be observed, among other things, in relation to cultural, social, economic, political transformations and life in emigration. The article is a proposal to define the circumstance of loneliness and show its multi-level structure. The text presents the causes and consequences of this state through which a person passes and experiences symptoms. The text is an attempt to answer the question whether Polish women living in Great Britain feel a sense of loneliness.

The article presents results of the study carried out in Mońki, which is a town characterized by high intensity of economic emigration. The study was conducted in 2016, during the so-called the migration crisis, i.e. the increased influx of immigrants and refugees to the countries of the European Union. Although the wave of this influx did not reach Poland, but the migration crisis has become an important social issue, especially in the mass media. Our survey shows how being a member of an emigrant sending community affects the attitude towards receiving immigrants and refugees.

The article analyses the contents of the Museum and Memorial Complex of Political Repressions and Totalitarianism Victims on the former Akmolinsky Camp for Wives of the Traitors of the Motherland (Akmolińskij łagierżon izmiennikow Rodiny, ALZhiR). The author describes and scrutinizes the functioning of the museum “ALZhIR” in the context of internal and external politics of the Kazakhstan state conducted by president Nursultan Nazarbayev and his allies. The museum not only introduces the camp reality but also highlights the support given to the Kazakh state and Kazakh nation. The author focuses on the analysis of those aspects of the museum content that present the national ideology, which main ideas are a glorification of Kazakh history, culture and humanitarianism (i.e. fundamental requirement of giving aid to the people in need).

The Human Rights and Disability Debate was organized within the 17th Polish Sociological Congress that took place in Wrocław in September 2019. It was the first time that the Sociology of Disability Section organized and chaired a series of sessions dedicated to the disability. Sessions were not only sociological, but also tackled disability from different perspectives, both practical and academic (participants were an interdisciplinary group of academics, researchers and practitioners).

The article is an ethnographic essay, which is based on a long-lasting fieldwork conducted in an Italian refugee center. The first part contains basic information on the research project, as well as the presentation of the phenomenon – empowerment – which is the axis of this text. The second part has an innovative form: on the canvas of films watched with refugees, I am conducting the analysis of problems raised by participants.
