Public Health and Governance. Scientific Issues of Health Protection (Zdrowie Publiczne i Zarządzanie Zeszyty Naukowe Ochrony Zdrowia) is a unique journal that merges the problems of public health with the problems regarding functioning of health system. This determines the interdisciplinary nature of the journal. Scientific papers from a large scope of disciplines are published in the journal such as: health education, social science, including but not limited to: economy and finance, managenemt, law and administration, sociology, psychology, political science as well as information and communication science and pedagogical science.

The journal wide range of issues is the result of the composite definition of the health (according to WHO definition from 1946) as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. On the other hand, the wide rang is a result of the multiplicity of problems related to the functioning of the healthcare system: governance and management of the healthcare sector, as well as governance and management of the institutions and agencies providing healthcare services, both preventive and therapeutic.

We welcome articles that presents comparative perspectives: both global and European perspectives as well as regional and local perspective in Poland. We publish papers written by authors from „leading" countries (as to healthcare solutions) that may be recognised as model and typical ones, but also from countries of low incomes, that find some difficulties as for providing health protection for its citizens – as the latest bring innovative organizational and system solutions.

Our journal is addressed to a wide range of readers who are interested in health protection where it is about their professional job or their research. Policy makers, specialists employed in branches and institutions of healthcare system, managers and medical staff employed are also our receivers, as well as social activist and promoters.

The articles published are very useful for academic staff and teachers providing education regarding health, its protection and functioning of institutions of healthcare services. For this group of receivers the results of original scientific research and analysis of important documents (national, delivered by European Union or World Health Organization) published in the journal bring very substantial content and become a support practical activities within thepublic health field.
