Rainwater management systems are mainly dependant on geological conditions, shape of the catchment and the legal regula­tions. Basic documentat necessary to get before start of constuction is water law agreement (aquatic consent). It can be compared to building permit for the operation of the building. The scope of duties and competences resulting from this document is very extensive. In the Water Law Act the basic document is water law agreement (aquatic consent). The only exception is drainage of rainwater in the tight evaporation water tank, which does not require administrative proceedings. It should be proceeded by obtaining the appropriate administrative decisions. The problem is that such cases are not always examined positively.

Systemy gospodarowania wodą deszczową są zależne przede wszystkim od warunków geologicznych, kształtu zlewni i regulacji prawnych. Podstawowym dokumentem koniecznym do uzyskania jest zgoda wodno prawna, które można porównać do budow­lanego pozwolenia na eksploatację obiektu. Zakres obowiązków i kompetencji wynikających z tego dokumentu jest bardzo duży. W Ustawie Prawo wodne, podstawowym dokumentem jest zgoda wodno prawna. Jedynie odprowadzanie wód opadowych do zbiorników szczelnych odparowujących nie wymaga postępowania administracyjnego. To znaczy, że rozwiązania polegające na wykorzystaniu wolnych terenów zielonych do retencjonowania wody powinny być poprzedzone uzyskaniem odpowiednich decy­zji administracyjnych. Niebezpieczeństwo polega na tym, że nie zawsze takie sprawy są pozytywnie rozpatrywane.
