Call for papers 2/2025

We kindly invite you to submit the results of your research to the quarterly "Terminus". The journal has been published continuously since 1999 at the Faculty of Polish Studies of the Jagiellonian University. It specialises in early modern literature and culture (15th to mid-18th century). Articles are published in Polish and English, all undergoing thorough double-blind review.


2/2025 Late Medieval and Early Modern Hagiographies, edited by Magdalena Komorowska


The issue aims to show hagiography's transformation in the late Medieval and Early Modern periods. Possible topics include, but are not limited, to the development of the genre (at the level of individual texts and entire collections of lives), hagiography in Latin and vernacular languages, the role of hagiographical writing in shaping and promoting the cult of particular saints, and the impact of humanism, the Protestant Reformation and the Council of Trent on the development of hagiography.


Proposals of 300 words should be sent to wojciech.ryczek@uj.edu.pl by 29th February 2024.


Final contributions of up to 8000 words should be delivered by 31st August 2024.
