Hvem var ’Tadeusz Rosewicz’? Litt om resepsjonsforskning og Tadeusz Różewicz’ forfatterskap i Norge
This paper concerns the condition of Tadeusz Różewicz’s literary work in Norway. The main focus is put on the reception of a foreign writer and how his work influenced other Norwegian creators. To discuss this problem, a theory of the reception of the foreign writer is first described. It borrows elements from the reception history, translation studies, and comparative literature. I research reviews, paratexts, quantity and character of translated work, and translators of Różewicz themselves. As it turns out, while Różewicz is probably not as famous as Wisława Szymborska or Witold Gombrowicz, his work has been discovered by the Norwegian readers thanks to one of his translators: Martin Nag. One can even say that Różewicz’s poetry and aesthetics inspired Norwegian modernist poets, e.g. Paal Brekke and Jan Erik Vold.
