Unemployment as a process in the subjective dimension is associated with changes in human existence. In the study I indicate that the most important negative effect of unemployment is the destruction of the value space of the unemployed. Dignity, freedom and responsibility are particularly at risk. Threats also concern social values that are realized in human work.

The article discusses issues related to the value of human work. Work is considered as something more than just gaining revenues. Most of all, it carries multiple values which allows individuals to strive for self-development and improvement of his or her personality. Through work individual not only produces material goods, but also introduces intended and valuable changes in his or her environment. Working people should have a sense of dignity and freedom, be aware of their freedom, responsibility and sensitivity to their humanity subjected to the test of time in the phenomena of work. The article is an overview of the concept of work in terms of ethics.

We live in a world of intense changes and economic and social development. With the following changes in technologies used in the economy, there is an increase in the intensity of innovative activities undertaken by enterprises and an increase in their efficiency. The work which a person takes in a changing environment gains new personal, social, civilizational and cultural dimensions. In addition, it is carried out with new methods and using new technologies. In his deliberations the author has attempted to define innovativeness and show its significance in contemporary society.

Contemporaneity is characterized by: dynamic development of the sciences, the flow of research results and methodologies of scientific disciplines. This results in changes in individual disciplines. Research is needed these changes. The need to explain their meaning. In education, the problem is growing due to new findings on man and his activities. Human work generates new systems concepts.

This study refers to the interpretation of the basic categories of educational sciences, i.e. Pedagogy of Labour. From the perspective of the theory and the research in the field of education it is important to describe both the object of study and the content, processes, methods, criteria that determine boundaries of human knowledge of that subject, and the source of knowledge about the subject of the research. The subject of this paper shall be considered as important in both theoretical, practical and existential way.

The problems of trans-multi-disciplinary studies on man’s work comprises objects of research that are common to different academic disciplines but are selected in such a manner as not to distort the visions of the research objects specific for various disciplines. Studies conducted in multi-, inter- or transdisciplinary projects pose a major challenge. The transdisciplinary approach to knowledge and research has its practical sources in the applicability of knowledge, inter alia in searching for more effective solutions to earlier indicated problems. In the paper I present selected problems concerning research on human work indicating its trans-multidisciplinary character.
