Mission and objectives

Teoria Polityki

Teoria Polityki is an international scientific journal that publishes papers on theory of politics and methodology of political science. Scientific areas within the scope of the journal include broadly-understood theoretical reflection on politics, conducted in accordance with all the paradigms of social sciences and research approaches specific to political science. The fundamental aim of the journal is to further theoretical reflection on politics, to bring together scholars specializing in the theory of politics and to present Polish political thought to international readership. With that purpose in mind, the journal intends to publish the papers of the most prominent Polish and foreign political theorists.


Teoria Polityki
is a response to the demands of Polish political scientists. The journal was founded by the following centres specialising in theoretical approach: Chair of Political Theory and Sociology of Pedagogical University of Kraków, Department of Philosophy and Theory of Politics of the University of Warsaw, Department of Theory of Politics and Methodology in Political Science of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Department of Theory of Politics and Political Thought of the University of Łódź, Department of Theory of Politics and State of the Jagiellonian University, Department of Theory of Politics of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Department of Theory of Politics of the University of Gdańsk, Department of Theory of Politics of the University of Wrocław. The journal is co-founded by the aforementioned universities. From 2022 onwards, the following units have joined in the publishing effort: Institute of Political Science of the University of Silesia in Katowice, Department of Political Theory and Political Thought of the University of Opole, Department of Political Systems, Political Theory and Administration of the University of Zielona Góra, Department of Political Theory and Managing the Public Sphere of the Kazimierz Wielki University in  Bydgoszcz.


Teoria Polityki
is to be of use to the whole political science community, especially to political theorists and methodologists, lecturers and students of social science.

Apart from the inaugural issue devoted to the general description of the field, all the following issues are organized thematically. Every issue is prepared by one of the centres mentioned above. Lead editors jointly and in concert with the Editor-in-Chief and the Chairman of the Academic Editorial Board arrange the issue and decide upon the selection of the articles.
