Mission and objectives of the journal

Studia Etymologica Cracoviensia

Studia Etymologica Cracoviensia (SEC) was a yearbook of etymology. Founded in 1996 in Cracow by Marek Stachowski, it operated until 2015 and served as an international forum of etymological research in all language families, bringing together specialists from more than 25 countries worldwide. Throughout its existence, it was the world’s only academic journal devoted exclusively to the field.

SEC published original articles and reviews in English, German and French. All articles were double blind peer-reviewed. Every volume was edited by the board and a number of international consultants and reviewers.
