Functional and spatial differences in historic urban parks in Poland and Great Britain

Abstrakt

An important element of the urban landscape are the parks. Although some of them have a historical provenance that they perform an important role in the functioning of modern urban structures and the formation of citizens’ needs. This paper presents the results of research, which was carried out in the period 2013-2015 in three historic parks in Poland and the Great Britain. For the analysis was selected Lloyd Park in London, Prospect Park in Reading and Saxon Garden in Lublin. Within these objects being studied in terms of their functionality and compositional structure. The aim of the study was to compare parks and define their role in the urban landscape.
