Biografia

Łukasz Kraj, a graduate in French and Portuguese studies, as well as the anthropology of literature from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, is currently pursuing his PhD on Earth imagery in European modernist poetry. Employed at the Faculty of Polish Studies of JU, he leads a grant project, “Rooted and Uprooted in Polish Poetry of 20th and 21st Centuries: A Project of Phytographic Criticism,” funded by the Polish Ministry of Education and Science. Awarded for the best Master’s thesis in literary studies in Poland, he authored a monograph on the pietà in 20th-century literature and visual arts. His research interests include affect theory, representations of Gaia in art and literature, and poetry of European avant-garde.
