Marek Pacukiewicz, Ph.D., Dr hab., Associate Professor at the University of Silesia in Katowice. He has published a book entitled Dyskurs antropologiczny w pisarstwie Josepha Conrada (Anthropological Discourse in the Works of Joseph Conrad – 2008) and Grań kultury. Transgresje alpinizmu (2012) – a book on the cultural patterns of Polish mountaineering. He has also published two volums of poetry. His interests include cultural anthropology, the anthropology of literature and the problems of contemporary transformations of cultural myths (including those in the works of Conrad).
