Mission and objectives

Our mission

"Philosophical Problems of Education" is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal. Its main area of interest is philosophy of broadly understood education. The articles published in PPE deal with theoretical problems of education in an interdisciplinary manner.

Our intention is to undertake the research program that goes across the humanities and social science. Although our focus is on theoretical issues we wish to address also the practical ones. The above mentioned subjects of interest can be approached from different philosophical perspectives. We are open to the multiplicity of diverse theoretical traditions and we promote the variety of philosophical perspectives in theory of education.

This means that our journal remains open to publish the results of studies conducted in analytical, realistic as well as phenomenological or hermeneutical tradition. It refers to their descriptive as well as normative versions including critical, emancipatory or liberal pedagogy. Our main objectives include (1) promoting the basic research in the academic studies on education; (2) referring to philosophical concepts in rational and constructive reflection on fundamental issues of education; (3) initiating academic discussions and debates concerning philosophy of education and related issues; (4) integrating everyone at academia concerned with our subject field of studies.

We suggest the following publishing categories: (1) articles and treatises; (2) polemics and controversies (3) reviews. We hereby invite all the reseachers to submit your texts in the area of your research, academic or professional interest and related to any of the topics mentioned above.
