The paper presents the definition of key terms distinguished and used in the field of vacationing, leisure, and recreation. It explains their similarities and differences. The classification has been developed for holiday centers according to their intended use, forms of activity, and types of services. Key criteria for their classification are provided. It analyzes the experience of designing contemporary recreation centers in Ukraine and all over the world, and identifies key trends in the development of their architecture and infrastructure in general.

The article highlights the sacred component of architecture of theological-humanitarian Christian educational institutions. It researches the architectural and space-planning decisions of temples and chapels of theological-humanitarian educational institutions.
The objective of the research is to determine the major principles of architecture development common for the sacred core of theological-humanitarian educational institutions.
The research has been conducted by means of analyzing the historical experience of designing and constructing temples and chapels of theological educational institutions in Ukraine, carrying out field observations, systematizing the results of previous scientific researches, as well as analyzing the design decisions and the implemented projects. The methods of typological analysis, experimental design, and questionnaire-based survey have been applied in the course of the research.
The results of the conducted research helped to outline the major principles of architecture development common for the sacred core of theological-humanitarian educational institutions, determine the major factors influencing the architecture of temples and chapels of similar institutions, and offer the suggestions for designing temples and chapels of theological-humanitarian educational institutions in Ukraine.

This paper presents the outcomes of two international conferences: ‘On the way to architectural education and the profession of the future’ and ‘Genesis and development directions of the future architecture in the Eastern Europe’, which took place on 28 November 2018 and 28 November 2019, respectively, at the Lviv Polytechnic National University.

During the conference, educationalists, researchers, experts from architectural and artistic schools of Ukraine from Lviv, Kyiv, Odessa, Chernivtsi, Dnipro, Lutsk; Poland - from the city of Kielce; Germany - from Dresden University of Technology; Canada - from the city of Toronto, discussed what had to be done and done unquestionably so that we could not only dream about an architecture of the future but also actively create it.

Not asking a formal request of the speakers to present what came out of the predictions of the architects / futurists of the twentieth century directed, according to their understanding, into close (the 1970s and 80s), non-distant (the 1990s) and distant future (the turn of the twenty-first century). Instead, they wanted to plant into the architectural reality of modern Eastern Europe, and Ukraine, Poland, Germany in particular, those sprouts of the new in architecture which are associated with ‘the architecture of the future’ and that are currently being born and their blooming can be expected in the Eastern Europe and the world in the future.

The article distinguishes the main historical stages of the Ukrainian diplomacy development and conducts the analysis of diplomatic legations architecture in Ukraine starting from the Cossacks era and up till present days.

This publication reviews the research projects conducted by students and lecturers of the Institute of Architecture of Lviv Polytechnic National University. These projects offer various ways of building “landscape” theaters with infrastructure, that would be located in green zones of the largest Ukrainian cities and provide the population with modern cultural and spectacular complexes.

The article analyzes the peculiarities of architectural and space-planning organization of campuses in Christian higher educational instutions as based on the example of the Catholic University of America in Washington, depicts the history of the university establishment process, outlines the development of its architecture within the perspectives of time and space, highlights the major tendecies that define the formation of architecture of buildings, facilities and spaces in contemporary higher educational institutions, which carry out their educational and scientific activities under the guidance of the Christian Catholic Church ideology.
