Marta Wicherek holds a PhD from Jagiellonian University in Kraków, where her focus is on teaching Spanish lexicology, legal language, and translation. Her main areas of research are the linguistic registers used during trials and the morphosyntactic issues of legal terminology. She also studies lexicological phenomena from Polish and Spanish perspectives and carries out comparative analyses to identify similarities and differences in lexical concepts in both languages, such as polysemy, homonymy, synonymy, borrowings and acronyms. Among the various works she has published is the manual Lexicología del español. Ejercicios con dibujos para colorear, which includes many practical exercises focusing on the main lexicological phenomena of the Spanish language. Another notable publication is the monograph Langues romanes non standard, which she edited with Iwona Piechnik in 2021.
