The market study was performed in May 2019 using the online survey method on a group of 104 persons who were currently searching for an apartment. Based on initial studies, the authors analysed the opinions of potential customers, identified the apartments enjoying the highest demand, described the preferences of potential buyers and the criteria that encourage buying real estate to the greatest extent. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the perceived need for persons to have their own apartment is the most common reason for purchasing a property. The most desirable housing has between 40 and 60 square metres of usable floor area, is composed of three rooms, in addition to a kitchen and a bathroom, and has its own dedicated parking space.

https://doi.org/10.4467/2353737XCT.14.111.2561In the world of literature, only a few methods for assessing partner relationships in construction project have been described. This paper analyses five of them. Methodology is discussed as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each individual method. On this basis, the guidelines for the development of a comprehensive system of assessment and control of partner relationships have been summarised.

https://doi.org/10.4467/2353737XCT.14.119.2569The paper discusses the process of restoration of the outer courtyard on Wawel Hill, which was part of a project co-funded by the European Union under the “Infrastructure and Environment” programme. The location and specificity of the restoration works generated many technological and organisational problems during their implementation (most of which could not have been predicted earlier), which in turn determined the different approaches and concepts available for solving them. The article is therefore a kind of case study, which demonstrates the specific implementation al problems associated with this project, as well as identifying the mistakes to be avoided, on one hand, as well as to point to concepts which are worth repeating.

https://doi.org/10.4467/2353737XCT.14.093.2543Sustainable development is a method of resource management, the effect of which not only meet the needs of the present but also of future generations. Historical monuments as part of national heritage are a resource, which is protected not only in the sense of its cultural value but also has a potential for the creation of socio-economic values. The process of extending the life cycle of a historic building is associated primarily with the analysis of the options for its conversion in the light of various criteria, many of which have a fuzzy character. The aim of the paper regards the proper selection and also description of the criteria for assessing conversion options for historic buildings in the context of sustainable development.

https://doi.org/10.4467/24498939IJCM.15.014.4493Background. The vast majority of historical buildings no longer serve its original function because that function is no longer needed today. This fact is the reason why many of the abandoned monuments are subject to the process of degradation. A chance to extend the life cycle of historical buildings is their reuse, which is made possible thanks to adapting these facilities to perform new functions. Polish regulations lack a comprehensive, multi-criteria approach to the selection of variants of adaptation of historical buildings despite the practical needs in this area.
Research aims. Fuzzy inference system assisting the choice of a variant of adaptation of historical buildings presented in this article meets the above requirements.
Methodology. In the analysis, an expert inference system has been developed on the basis of inference rules database by taking into account the fuzzy logic.
Key findings. The developed expert fuzzy inference system is designed primarily for decision-makers from the so-called public sector. The choice made by the above mentioned concerning the use of a historical building will result not only from the analysis of expenditures that need to be incurred for the process of adaptation, but also from the benefits which stem from the idea of sustainable development that can be achieved at the same time.

https://doi.org/10.4467/2353737XCT.14.064.3972This paper presents the characteristics of four types of thermal insulation, with the application of: polystyrene panels, mineral wool panels, polyurethane foam panels, and phenolic foam panels. The technical parameters, prices, and amount of labour related to wall construction technology with the application of the thermal insulation materials listed above were discussed. The goals of this article are: to compare technical parameters of certain types of thermal insulation, to provide an economic analysis of the chosen wall insulation solutions, and to choose the type of thermal insulation that is most beneficial in terms of the relationship of price to quality.
