https://doi.org/10.4467/2353737XCT.15.192.4397This paper presents the results of an analysis of sedimentary rocks in Tauron Group quarry. The main purpose of this study was to assess the possibilities of using remote sensing techniques for the categorisation of rock types. The application of remote sensing systems for the categorisation of rock types allows the evaluation of the volume and mineral composition of the material extracted from the quarry. Rock samples collected from the Tauron Group quarry were classified according to their mineral composition. Spectrometric analyses were also carried out in the spectral range of 350‒2500 nm wavelength. Spectral properties and mineral composition characteristics of the samples allow for the evaluation of the potential of using remotely-sensed data for rock classification. Optimal spectral bands for highest separability between individual rock types in the quarry were identified based on the study.

Working included three stages: preparing configuration of a proper equipment, measurement of two objects with different surface with terrestial photogrammetry method and 3D scanning as a comparative method, elaboration of results and drawing conclusions. Results indicate possibility of succesful using the proposed method in cases where high accuracy isn’t required but speed and low cost of measurements.

Certain advantages and disadvantages of applied engineering methods for measurement, along with reasons for necessity to apply more accurate geodetic survey methods are discussed. An example of optimal, according to the author of this article, geodetic technology for control over panel assembly and monitoring of panels tensioning, including relevant study, have been detailed.

Podano możliwości praktycznych zastosowań bazy do rozwiązywania zagadnień inżynieryjno-górniczych.

https://doi.org/10.4467/2353737XCT.14.067.1844Geodetic works carried out for the purposes of evaluation of technical condition of flood embankments have to meet some special technical criteria. Modern technologies such as classical measurements, the photogrammetric studies and laser scanning have been taken into consideration in the paper. The presented method follows a hybrid approach by integration of classical measurements, scanning function of reflectorless tachymeter and camera images. Experiences based on geodetic inventory of the Vistula Boulevards in Cracow conducted in 2010 r allows to determine the usability of above mentioned methods in this specific measurements. It has been found that in the case of inventory of earth structures the optimal method of measurement needs combining classical methods and scanning tachymeter. The proposed hybrid method is also effective when applied for typical concrete constructions. Using of laser scanners is justified only in the case of measurement of very complicated structure.
