Karolina Czerska holds a PhD degree and is an Assistant Professor in the Institute of Romance Philology at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Her research interests include Polish, French and Belgian theatre, literature and visual arts of 20th and 21st centuries. Author of a book devoted to theatrical oeuvre of Tadeusz Kantor and Maurice Maeterlinck (Tadeusz Kantor i Maurice Maeterlinck. Dramaturgie istnienia, 2019). She was the curator of the first exhibition on Polish experimental prewar Cricot theatre (Cricoteka, 2018). Her current research concerns the history of Cricot and a biography of Józef Jarema, a Polish painter and theatre artist. She is also a translator of Francophone literature and a musician.
