The problems are illustrated by examples of optimising: the head saw use in planning the timber production realisation, the purchases for small warehouse and the supply of cement to the network of concrete plants or precast plants.
Distribution of the temperature factor in terms of building envelope protection against mould growth

https://doi.org/10.4467/2353737XCT.15.074.3874This paper describes the criterion for the protection of building envelopes against the growth of mould. As a criterion for assessing the risk to envelopes, the fRsi temperature factor is adopted. The paper provides the resultant temperature factor fRsi,max for the critical month in 61 areas in Poland for which typical year-long meteorological data is available on the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development. While calculating the temperature factor, various room humidity classes were taken into account. The results of calculations of the temperature factor fRsi,max have been illustrated with isolines drawn for the whole area of Poland.

https://doi.org/10.4467/2353737XCT.14.378.3689This article presents and describes some qualitative changes that have occurred in the engineering design of building structures over the last forty years. With widespread access to computers and the development of software tools, optimization problems, which in the nineteen- seventies were solved analytically or, when justifiable, using mathematical machinery (e.g. first Polish minicomputers type Odra 1,300) are now often settled through the use of specialized add-ins to spreadsheets. This state of affairs has created a basis for significant changes in the quality of educational opportunities in the context of construction faculties within technical universities. These changes are illustrated with a simple example of the optimization (determination of the dimensions of the beam subjected to bending).
