In this paper the experimental and numerical results of dynamic characteristics (i.e. natural frequencies and modes of vibrations) of the cable-stayed footbridge, located in Czestochowa, are presented. The numerical analysis was carried out with the ABAQUS package. The in situ tests methodology and the results are also presented on the basis of the spectral analysis of vibrations caused by a group people jumping. The theoretical and experimental results are in good agreement as far as both the natural frequencies and eigenmodes are concerned.

The representative time histories registered in the further cases were used as ground motion data in calculations of then dynamic response of the footbridge. The results of numerical analysis were checked with the criteria of vibration comfort for footbridges. The ABAQUS software was used for the dynamic calculations.

In this study peak ground accelerations equal 0.4 g were assumed for the shock. In the paper there are the results from numerical simulation. The analyses were prepared for two material models: with elastic and inelastic behavior. In both cases the homogenization model of masonry material was used. The study was prepared in ABAQUS software (Simulia, 2013).
