	The aim of this paper is to show the unfavourable influence of simplifications we adopt in modelling real structures numerically. The simplest way to model joints is to treat them as either rigid or flexible. However, there are structures whose stability strongly depends on joints’ stiffness, an example of which is  the structure of a dome whose joints have been designed as semi-rigid. It has been shown that even minor underestimation of the real rigidity of supports or joints has a negative impact on the static inner forces distribution.&lt;/p&gt;
