After the territorial reform of 1866, at the beginning of 1867, it was incorporated into the Koło County in the Kalisz Governorate. In 1870, pursuant to the law of 1869, it lost its municipal rights and was transformed into a settlement. The municipal administration in the Kingdom of Poland was subordinated to state authority. Each of the mayors was nominated, not elected by the community. The first mayor of the town in the period discussed was Jan Stanżewski, and the last one was Jan Wabilski. The town owned a number of properties. For decades, the premises were rented to house the town council. Despite the property for its construction having been purchased, it was the building of the liquidated brewery that was finally adapted to the seat of the municipal authorities. The costs of maintaining the municipal administration and implementing municipal investments were covered from numerous taxes and fees. In the period analyzed, Brdów was a small town with a definite dominance of wooden buildings. The demographic development was insignificant. After the town was transformed into a settlement in 1870, a separate rural commune of Brdów was not created, but incorporated into the rural commune of Lubotyń.}, doi = {10.4467/27204006PMO.21.003.15454}, url = {https://ejournals.eu/en/journal/polonia-maior-orientalis/article/brdow-w-latach-1815-1870-administracja-finanse-i-majatek-miejski} }
