The method is based on the use of physical and numerical models to reproduce and understand the flow conditions inside the wet pit and their effect on the air entrainment. The research starts with developing a representative model for the wet pit pumping station, goes through conducting the numerical and experimental studies as well as the validation of the results, and ends with providing a valuable easy-to-enforce preliminary design and operating recommendations.
