TY - JOUR TI - Is the Narrator a Woman? Narration and “Women’s Language” in Jacqueline Harpman’s Orlanda AU - Szczur, Przemysław TI - Is the Narrator a Woman? Narration and “Women’s Language” in Jacqueline Harpman’s Orlanda AB - The aim of the paper is to analyse Jacqueline Harpman’s Orlanda in the light of feminist linguistics and narratology. The narrator of this novel, although explicitly identified as a woman, uses linguistic and narrative strategies culturally defined as both feminine and masculine. The result is an androgynous narration that matches very well the novel’s subject of a cross-gender spirit migration.  VL - 2016 IS - Volume 11, Issue 2 PY - 2016 SN - 1897-3035 C1 - 2084-3933 SP - 109 EP - 117 DO - 10.4467/20843933ST.16.012.5321 UR - https://ejournals.eu/en/journal/studia-litteraria-uic/article/la-narratrice-est-elle-une-femme-narration-et-langage-feminin-dans-orlanda-de-jacqueline-harpman KW - Belgian literature KW - Jacqueline Harpman KW - narration KW - women’s language
