Literary Prizes in Poland after Breakthrough of 1989 as a Tool for Exchange Capitals AB - The literary prize is one of the basic categories of the literary field. According to the latest research, the institution of an award is also the most effective capital conversion tool. It broadens the understanding of the term economics by its non-intuitive scope – the economy of culture. Thanks to the existence of prizes, economic capital turns out to be only one of the variants of capital, and the field of culture reveals the principle of transaction that guides it. The literary award is not only a tool for the exchange of capital, but also allows to see the dimension of social mission, tasks of governments, negotiating relationships between the public and private sectors. Prizes as well align the story of literary life, axiology and social reception of works by drawing an alternative history of Polish and world literature of late modernity, marked by awards themselves.  VL - 2020 IS - Volume 21, Issue 1 PY - 2020 SN - 1896-8201 C1 - 2084-3976 SP - 39 EP - 50 DO - 10.4467/20843976ZK.20.004.12038 UR - https://ejournals.eu/en/journal/zarzadzanie-w-kulturze/article/infrastruktura-wartosci-nagrody-literackie-w-polsce-po-przelomie-1989-roku-jako-narzedzie-wymiany-kapitalow KW - prizes KW - sociology of literature KW - cultural economics KW - axiology KW - creative economy
