The source materials are the archival materials from the records of the Town of Puławy (held in the State Archive in Lublin). Their analysis allowed the author to recreate precisely the functioning of the administrative office while using it used the register system and from 1949 – the case-based filing system. The modernization of the administrative office was possible due to the introduction of office standards – office instructions and the subject index of records, which was different from the commonly used structural-subject records.
