abstract = {This paper describes the advantages of using the Russian National Corpus in paremiography and synthesizes the author’s experience in the elaboration of the Russian part of Refranero multilingüe designed to provide the translation of popular Spanish proverbs into all the languages of the Iberian peninsula and into the main European languages. The use of National Corpus helps to detemine to determine the proverb list and to describe diachronic changes and variational processes in paremiology while being useful for researching neologisms and detecting updated/outdated proverbs.},
