TY - JOUR TI - Kipp’s apparatus – a smart laboratory equipment AU - Taborska, Małgorzata TI - Kipp’s apparatus – a smart laboratory equipment AB - Kipp’s apparatus belongs to a group of very special laboratory glassware. Its appearance results from cooperation of two outstanding specialists: Jacobus Kipp and Johann H.W. Geissler. The apparatus serves for obtaining small amounts of strongly reactive gases, on site, at the laboratory. Its asset is the possibility of supervising the reaction. This successful model of apparatus was long used in laboratories, along with its numerous modifications. It was created in 1860, but small numbers of the apparatus are still manufactured. In laboratory equipment it serves as a source of in situ nascendi gases. Currently it has been replaced by precision electronic apparatus.   VL - Volume 21 (2013) IS - Volume 21 PY - 2014 SN - 0239-9989 C1 - 2084-3852 SP - 115 EP - 129 DO - 10.4467/20843852.OM.13.007.2917 UR - https://ejournals.eu/en/journal/opuscula-musealia/article/aparat-kipp-a-eleganckie-urzadzenie-laboratoryjne KW - Kipp’s apparatus KW - laboratory glassware KW - in situ nascendi gases KW - Geissler tube
