He embarked upon his personal journey to God at the age of 14 when he experienced a personal mystical encounter with Christ during his first thoughtful and in-depth reading of the Gospel. The accompanying transformation of consciousness consisted in a new perception of the world and people through the lens of God’s love and determined the extraordinary way of life of the future superior of the Orthodox Church in England.
