In addition, the author’s intention was to identify the determinants of efficiency, taking into account the political and economic conditions in which the zones function and their geographical location. The study uses data included in the Information on the implementation of special economic zones available on website premier.gov.pl from 2015. The data available in the source material allowed for the analysis of year 2014 only. In order to determine the effectiveness of the zones, the DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) method was used.
