abstract = {The intention of the subject is to analyse and evaluate examples of the adaptive reuse of synagogal architecture in the area of north-eastern Poland. Several dozen synagogues survived the period of wartime destruction and genocide in these areas, constituting a testimony to the presence of Jewish people there. Both the Holocaust and emigration led to a situation in which these buildings found themselves without owners after the war. During the post-war reconstruction, the problem of their adaptation to new functions arose.},
