Supervision is seen as a way to reduce stress, as well as to maintain the personality of the employee (helper) and the awake and living customer as a central tool in these professions. The characteristics and application of supervision in German-speaking countries have been clarified and the importance of social work has been discussed. The self-reflexivity, processiveness and emancipation of supervision are emphasized here.
