As it developed, efforts were made to regulate its position within the health care system. In the post-war years, it began to be seen as a solution to the shortage of medical personnel. However, the limitations of the profession and the development of other medical career paths have reduced its role in Poland. Nonetheless, in some countries, it is still of great importance. The sources also describe similar professional roles whose responsibilities overlap with those of feldshers. This demonstrates the enduring and international nature of this profession, which is reflected in different cultural contexts and healthcare systems. The purpose of this study was to present the changes taking place in attitudes towards the profession of feldsher and their duties in Poland as well as around the world.
