The latter is relatively new and remains associated, among other things, with the centralization of decision-making processes, as well as manifests itself in the growing role of individual political leaders. Presidentialization leads to an increasingly stronger actual position of the executive power within modern systems of government (within presidentialism, semi-presidentialism and parliamentarism), which goes beyond the letter of the constitution. This also affects the functioning of political parties. Hence, the aim of the article is to identify the key characteristics of presidentialized political parties that operate within presidentialized systems of government. The reference point for verifying these theoretical findings will be the parties operating within the semi-presidential system of the Fifth French Republic.
