According to the first one, the work is an expression of the poet’s transformation, his discovery of the sense of history and his own writing; while according to the second one, it is an ironic discovery of meaninglessness. These readings are verified by presenting Słowacki’s drama in the context of the constellation of the poet’s other works – close to Kordian in terms of time and problems touched upon.
