The main part of the article presents archival materials from the Chełm Division of the State Archive in Lublin, which contain stories of escapees from Volhynia. The author mentions the events of that time and the localities from which the Volhynia inhabitants came to Chełm. Documents which contain traces of Volhynia are one more confirmation of the tragedy of the then events.
