Anne White, is Professor of Polish Studies and Social and Political Science, University College London School of Slavonic and East European Studies. She is a sociologist and social anthropologist, conducting her research mostly in Poland, but also in the UK. She runs the Polish Migration Website and has published four books as well as numerous scholarly articles about migration from and to Poland. Her new book Polish Cities of Migration: the Migration Transition in Kalisz, Piła and Płock (UCL Press, 2024) discusses Poland’s transition to ‚immigration country’ status as viewed by Polish return migrants, Ukrainians and people of other nationalities living in smaller Polish cities.
