Nicholas De Sutter is a postdoctoral researcher at the Seminarium Philologiae Humanisticae and the department of Latin Literature of KU Leuven. Having obtained his PhD in 2023 on the reception of modernity in the Neo-Latin poetry of the Long Nineteenth Century, he now focuses on the performative and spectacular dimensions of early modern Neo-Latin culture in the Southern Low Countries. His ongoing FWO-funded postdoctoral project investigates the interplay between Neo-Latin literature, Jesuit pedagogy, and Baroque spectacle, with particular attention to manuscript school drama and related performance traditions.
