The “Warszawski Dziennik Narodowy” – the most important journal of the National Party published in Warsaw – represents the nationalist press. The Gypsy community settled on the territory of the Polish state was shown in a negative light in the columns of this journal, as an element of the criminal demi‑monde and of the social margins. This image was accompanied by a lack of interest in the internal affairs of the minority, in its traditions and culture. From 1937, as an ad hoc response to international events connected with the policies of the Third Reich and to the support given by the  anacja authorities of the Second Polish Republic to selected kings of the Gypsies, the Gypsy issue was treated as a political question. Nonetheless, the treatment of this topic rather served to foster anti‑Jewish rhetoric than to highlight any position toward the Gypsies themselves}, doi = {10.4467/23916001HG.17.004.9058}, url = {https://ejournals.eu/czasopismo/studia-historica-gedanensia/artykul/problematyka-cyganska-w-prasie-narodowej-w-latach-1935-1939-na-przykladzie-warszawskiego-dziennika-narodowego} }
