The beginnings of the wooden structure systems of frame and massive structure as well as new solutions with reference to traditional ones are presented in the paper. Modern timber systems presented in the paper are selected in such a way as to show the diversity of their structure. Examples of systems based on logs, beams and plate (solid and boxes) elements are shown in the paper. Description of each system contains information about the basic elements of the structure, connection methods and materials used in their production. Degree of prefabrication and assembly methods are also discussed.
